The communication methods between Siemens S7 serial PLC and Modbus RTU protocol through Profibus-Modbus bus bridge is particularl） described. The design thought and software programming is also presented. The practical application proved that PB-M bridge is a reliable and stable equipment, which is very suitable to be used in the industrial controlling field as the protocol transition bus bridge.
