保罗从一个迫害基督教会的人,转变为名副其实的外邦使徒,为基督宗教的世界传播做出了卓越的贡献。在保罗的成长过程中,有四个重要的环节值得注意:曾见异象、重见光明、在阿拉伯静修、在安提阿生活。解读保罗一生中的重要阶段,乃是认识保罗精神操练的当代意义之有效途径。保罗经历了一次偶然的精神操练和大量自觉的精神操练,最终从一个微小的人成长为基督精神的传播者。基督宗教要改造自身以适应社会主义中国的现实境况,为建构和谐社会服务。这就是保罗精神对我们的当代启迪。

From a person who persecuted Christians, Paul became the first apostle of the early church, who spread Gospels among the Gentiles, and thus he is regarded as the genuine apostle of the Gentiles who contributed significantly to the worldwide spreading of Christianity. In the growing process of Paul there are four links worthy our notice: his having seen a vision, his being able to see again, his retreat in Arabian region, and his life in Antioch. By decoding some important stages of Pauls life, we may find an efficient way to knowing the present significance of his spiritual exercises. He experienced a spiritual exercise by accident and after that he proceeded greatly in spiritual exercises conscientiously. Finally he became a spreader of Christian spirit from a tiny person, as is the enlightenment to each and every intellectual who believes in Christianity.
