Avoiding Entering the Erroneous Area of Intercultural Communication

语言与文化之间有着密切的联系:不同的语言有着不同的文化背景,不同国度、不同种族之间以相同或相似的语言形式传达不同的信息。因此,中国与西方进行交流时应注意两种语言之间的文化差异,避免走进交际的误区。我们不但要承认差异、理解差异,还要学会逐渐地适应差异,将对方的文化融入自己的母语文化之中。

Language and culture are always going hand in hand. Different languages have different culture backgrounds and people of different countries and nationalities express different messages in the same or similar languages. Thus people of China and the west should pay attention to the cultural differences when they make the intercultural communication in order to avoid entering the erroneous area. We should not only acknowledge and understand the differences but also learn to gradually adapt to them, integrating the target language culture into our own culture of mother tongue.
