摘要
《中华人民共和国地方病与环境图集》是一部展示人类疾病与生态环境关系的新型地图集。本文重点论述它的编制意义、原则、特点和方法。
Endemic disease or 'Water-soil' Diseases mainly originate in regions where water is affected by abnormal sulphar content. Endemic Diseases may cause illness, disablement or even death. Endemic diseases in China are often found in mountainous areas where the inhabitants are minorities in the most part.
In order to control and eliminate these disease, it is necessary to know the distribution of them, their epidemiological characteristics as well as their relationship with the environment. It is to this end that this atlas was compiled, basing on data from detailed investigations in situation.
This atlas consists of 221 map sheets grouped in six series, general maps (6 sheets), Environmental background (27 sheets), Keshan disease (57 sheets), Kaschen-Beck disease (46 sheets), Endemic goitre (39 sheets), and Endemic flaorsis (46 sheets). The general maps provide an overview of China's territory, administrative regions, population, nationalities and different kinds of endemic diseases.
The environmental background of endemic diseases map series introduce mainly the basic characteristics of environments where such diseases occur. The remaining series, wish photo illustrations, describe the geographical distribution, epidemiological symptoms, pathogeny, clinical symptoms, pathology, biochemistry, prevention and treatment of the respective diseases. From these maps one can have an insight into the regional differentiation of pathogenics factors which are associated with different environments. There are also diagrams providing specific quantitative data to illustrate why and where these diseases occur.
