台湾问题一直是中美日三边关系中的焦点问题。美日同盟涉台条款由蓄谋已久的“远东条款”调整为冷战后欲盖弥彰的“周边事态”,“9·11”后美日进一步将台湾问题纳入其“共同战略目标”。美日同盟涉台条款的强化,为美日介入台湾问题提供了“法律依据”;使得台海局势更趋复杂,岛内“台独”分子蠢蠢欲动;周边地区军备竞赛趋势加强。

The Taiwan Question has always been the triangular focus among China,the U. S. and Japan,Tai-wan-related provisions of the U. S. -Japan alliance rose from the long premeditated ＂Tar East provisions＂ to the concealed＂ peripheral events＂. After the ＂9 · 11＂ event, the U. S. strategic centre was shifting eastward, and America and Japan flagrantly published the U. S.-Japan＂ Joint Statement＂ ,which not only made the situation across the Taiwan Strait at daggers drawn,＂Taiwn independence＂ elements be ready ,but the neighboring countries strengthen the arms race as well.
