莎士比亚对文艺复兴的人文理性进行了怀疑与反思,产生了悲剧内涵中形而上的绝望感,这种绝望感同时体现在对上帝救赎的怀疑上。“哈姆莱特之谜”暗示了对理性的否定;李尔王、麦克白身上的厌世情绪进一步加深,充分显示出上帝缺席时的虚无感,悲剧的绝望达到顶峰;《雅典的泰门》则体现莎士比亚对自己的绝望所做的最后一次拯救。
The paper illustrates that William Shakespeare feels skeptical about humanistic rationality of the Renaissance, which leads to a sense of despair in the characters in his masterpieces of tragedies. Meanwhile, such a sense of despair also reflects the dramatist's doubt about the God as the Savior. Among other things, "The Hamlet' Puzzle" implies a negation of rationality; King Lear and Macbeth show greater feelings of world-weariness. In the latter two tragedies, the sense of despair in the protagonists reaches the summit. In Timon of Athens, the author makes his last attempt to save his own sense of despair.
