摘要
ATA总线结构简单、容易操作,其设备是目前存储市场的主流产品。然而ATA接口不易扩展的特性制约了其在集成存储中的应用。基于嵌入式系统,提出了一种ATA-RAID的实现方案。方案以ARM芯片为中央控制单元,以FPGA芯片控制底层数据逻辑。系统向外提供一个标准ATA端口,和普通ATA设备功能完全一样。实验表明,本方案有效的集成了ATA设备,扩展了ATA存储容量。
ATA bus has characteristics of simple architecture and feasible manipulation, its devices are the dominating storage products in the computer market at present. However, ATA protocol is hard to expand and short of intelligence, which severely restricts the application of ATA devices in the mass integrated storage. A method was proposed to implement ATA-RAID based on embedded system. The design used ARM chip as the central processing unit, used FPGA chip to control bottom data logic. The I/O sub-system was provided with a standard ATA interface to the hosts and acted as a normal ATA device. The experimental results proved that our method was successful to integrate ATA devices and expand ATA storage capacity.
