The chemical composition and the preparation of medium-low grade diatomite powder, which is used as a raw material of casting coation, have been presented. The process to prepare casting coatiog and the effect of this coating used in die-casting and pressuredie-casting has been studied. Experiments have shown that the process to prepare coating is simple and non-pollutant, the coating is cheap. Preparation of this coating has remarkble social and economic benifit.
