摘要
在当今这个多元文化的背景下,假如我们单单给学生教授英语语言技能,那么英语作为一种离乡背井的语言在具有五千年文明历史的华夏文化面前,将失去她应有的灵性而成为无本之木。为此,我们应该从文化教育的战略高度重新认识外语教学中的文化意识问题并在人文奥运的语境中探讨外语教育与奥林匹克文化教育相结合的途径,进一步拓展北京“人文奥运”的文化内涵,树立正确的语言世界观,寻求一种能够兼容外语语言技能习得与外国文化教育的外语教育理念及其方法,最大限度地吸收西方文明的文化素养,让首都北京成为一座具有深厚世界文化底蕴的现代化国际大都市。
At the age of globalization, if English language is still taught as a skill in China, the teaching of the language will probably loose the name of action, because English, far from her motherland, will appear to be too weak to exist in a cultural context with a civilization of more than 5 000 years, With an eye of cultural strategy, we' d better re-consider the problem of cultural awareness in the teaching of foreign languages in China and explore to integrate foreign language education into Olympic education in the context of humanistic Olympics, thus establishing a kind of correct world language outlook and seeking for ideas of combining foreign language teaching and foreign cultural education.
