Mass Associations and the Development of Dramatic Culture in Xinjiang in the Middle of Twentieth Century

20世纪30～40年代新疆成立诸多民众团体,他们开展了一系列抗日救亡活动,并利用戏剧,进行抗战宣传和募捐,有力地支援了抗战前线,推动了新疆戏剧文化的进步,民众团体的大众文艺活动对今天文艺事业的发展有重要的启示。

From the third to the fourth decades in the twentieth century, many a folk mass association had been set up. With their traditional and new forms of dramas, they undertook the propaganda work and raised money to support people fighting at the frontier in the Anti - Japan war. Their various kinds of activities enriched and promoted the artistic culture in Xinjiang. Those mass artistic activities would contribute a lot to modem culture in Xinjiang.
