社区学院作为美国独创的综合性大众化教育机构逐渐发展为社区成人教育的核心机构。成人教育是传统学校教育向终身教育发展的一种新型教育制度,对不断提高全民素质、促进经济和社会发展有重要作用。鉴于此,本论文在描述1990年代以来美国社区学院成人教育机制发展背景、历程的基础上,对美国社区学院成人教育教育形式、专业及课程设置、教学手段以及教师任用制度进行了较为详细的介绍,以期对促进我国成人教育发展提出一些有益的启示。

As the comprehensive mass education institution which was originally created in U. S. A, the community college gradually develops to be the core organization for community adult education. Adult education is a kind of new educational system evolving from the tradition school education into lifelong education. It plays the vital role to improve national quality, the promotion of economic and the social development. In view of this, after describing the background and history of the adult education system in American community colleges since 1990s, the paper introduces its form, specialty, curriculum, teaching method as well as the teacher employment system, and wish it can gives some useful enlightenments to our adult education.
