On "Sex" in Literature and Culture

虽然艺术不能摆脱肉体欲望的内容,表现生命欲望是艺术的本质和特征,但受文化制约的性才属于人类。艺术的追求不以肉体享受消解艺术的生命体验意义,也不以单向奉献的集团要求消解艺术的社会崇高精神,而是以创造理想性、超越性的艺术形态为人类发展和现实生存提供一种“诗意的栖居”。

Art cannot dispense with desires for flesh in its content, but the desire for life is the essence and characteristics of art. Culturally constrained sex is human. Artistic pursuit does not replace the significance of life experience with the enjoyment of the flesh, nor does it replace the social sublime spirit of art with the uni-directional devoted group. Rather it provides ＂poetic perch＂ for human development and reality with the artistic form of ideal creation and transcendence.
