Alterations of immunological function in PD patients have been found both in CNS and in peripheral blood lymphocyte. Intracerebral changes include activation of microgliocyte, changes in the levels of cytokines, complements and apoptosis-related protein, the presence of neuron-specific antibodies and antibodies against D2 receptor. In peripheral blood ,the percentage of T lymphocyte subsets changes, ratio of CD4^+/CD8^+ is decreased, production of cytokines changes, oxidative damage of DNA occurs and expression of Fas/FasL increase. Animal experiments proved that some immunotherapy may protect dopaminergical system from inflammatory damage.
