八大时党对于社会主义全面建设既缺乏必要的经验积累,又缺乏足够的理论准备,但制定了一条正确的路线。其原因主要有:毛泽东等中央领导同志深刻反思苏联模式,开始独立探索适合中国情况的社会主义建设道路;开展了全面系统的调查研究;中央领导集体保持了谦虚谨慎的态度;当时党内高层的民主生活比较正常、民主气氛比较浓厚等。

At the time when the Eighth National Congress was convened the CPC had neither experience in all - round socialist construction nor sufficient theoretical preparedness, yet the Party formulated a correct line at the congresso. Thanks to the following reasons： Mao Zedong and other leaders of the Central Committee made in - depth reflections on the Soviet model and began to explore independently the road of socialist construction suited to the Chinese conditions; all - round and systematic investigations were conducted; the central collective leadership remained modest and prudent; and there were a normal democratic life and a prevalent atmosphere of democracy in the top level of the Party.
