Buddhist Poet Cold Mountain:A Reconstructive Legendary Image

本文认为寒山“事迹”本质上是一个传说发生与流变的过程。经过佛、道及民间信仰三种力量的重构,寒山成为一个负载多种文化内涵的传说影像,佛门艳传其禅机,道流着重其清修,民间则称其和合。佛道之争及民间传承共同影响和决定着寒山传说的生长与面貌。

This text holds that the deeds of Cold Mountain were in fact a fabulously occurring and changing process. Being reconstructed by three kinds of forces: Buddhism, Taoism and folklores conviction, Cold Mountain became a fabulous image bearing various cultural connotations. The growing feature of Cold Mountain was co-worked by the conflict between Buddhism and Taoism, and influenced by folklores' inheritance.
