Culture of Security and Diplomacy in Southeast Asia: Transition of the "ASEAN Way"

东盟方式被看作是一个身份建构的过程,这一建构不仅有赖于东南亚社会化的深入、决策体制的传统和文化特殊模式,而且也有赖于处理国家间关系的原则和惯例。东盟外交和安全文化的缘起,是基于持久的为寻求独立的国家性和国际社会的主权平等基础上的。中国与东盟关系的发展,蕴涵着对东盟方式的挑战和机遇。

The ＂ASEAN Way＂ has been seen as a course of identity construction which depends not only on the tradition of decision - making system and special cultural patterns, but also on the modem rules and norms of international relations. The ＂ASEAN Way＂ culture of diplomacy and security stems from the sovereignty equality of international society and the nationality seeking for permanent independence. The development of the relations between China and ASEAN has implied both challenges to and opportunities for the ＂ASEAN Way＂.
