为在中国语境中合理地提出文化诗学的理论与方法,我们需要对这种来自西方的批评方法进行追根溯源的认识和理解。文化诗学有其启发性意义,也有其局限。这为我们改造它、完善它,从而提出适合中国文学研究的文化诗学提供了思路和方向。

For the purpose of rationally proposing the theory and method of cultural poetry under the Chinese context, it is very essential for us to trace the original source of this purely westernized critic method and acquire the basic recognition and understanding. Cultural poetry is on one hand enlightenment-provoking and on the other it has some limitation. So we must be very careful in choosing the correct step in the course of our research. From mastery of this root we may proceed to acquire the leaves; and in this way our thought and direction of the research will be perfectly comprehensive in itself.
