双语教学为那般?

摘要 我国的双语教学本质上指用英语从事非语言学科教学,但是与国外相比历史成因和目的均不相同。事实上,我国根本不存在双语教学的必要和可能。双语教学因以下两个原因而“蔚然成风”,其一,中国语言教育向来有不变则已,一变惊人的传统;其二,双语教学的策划者和参与者混淆了两个看似相似其实大相径庭的概念。教学语言不等于语言教学,教学目的不同于教学手段。因此,双语教学对国人作为外语的英语学习和发扬光大民族语言汉语,以及对非语言学科知识的获得,都会产生负面影响。 Bilingual teaching in China means teaching non-language subjects in English, which, compared with foreign practices, comes into being in different historical situations and serves distinctive purposes. However, neither necessity nor workability of bilingual teaching exists in China. It becomes popular for two reasons. One is that China is characterized by favoring sharp changes or no change in language teaching and learning. The other cause derives from the fact that both planners and participants of bilingual teaching have taken no trouble to differentiate the two pairs of seemingly similar terms language teaching differing from the language used in teaching, and teaching target being not the same as teaching methods. Consequently, bilingual teaching can be an obstacle to our native language learning, foreign language improving and non-language subject knowledge acquiring.
