本篇论文着重阐述交流与文化之间的关系。交流与文化有着非常密切的关系。文化就像是粘合剂,使具有相同文化背景的人联系在一起;又像是美好蓝图,指导着同一个社会团体的人们的行为。一直以来每一门学科的教学都是和文化密不可分的。英语自然也不例外。在诸多文化中,社会文化在起着重要作用。对于中国的老师和学生来说,如果他们能以系统的西方文化课程为基础来对待英语教学的话,就能避免很多困难了。不论是西方文化的学习,还是语言学的学习,都同属于西方语言和文化学习的体系。并且二者是紧密相连,相互影响,相互促进的。这篇论文就论证了西方文化是怎样影响英语的教学的。

Linguistics is the name given to the discipline which studies human language, and language is a most important means of comunication by which people in different ethnic, racial, sexual and cultural comunities can understand better. There is a link between comunication and culture. Culture, in which social culture possesses an important position, is the ＂ glue＂ that binds a group of people together and a ＂blueprint＂ that guides the behavior of people in a comunity, so today cultural element has been an inevitable approach to each discipline, and of course, there is no exception to English teaching and learning. For Chinese teachers and learners, situating the English teaching and learning within the systematic course of western culture,uany difficulties could be avoided. Both the study of western culture and that of linguistics belong to the sane systen of English language and literature, and they are closely connected with each other, as well as deeply influence each other. This thesis will demonstrate how western culture impact English teaching and leaning.
