也谈中法战争的结局

The Outcome of the War between China and France

中法战争后期,中国曾一度取得了局部胜利,但是局部的胜利毕竟改变不了整体的局势,无论从当时清政府的经济、军事和外交方面来看,还是从其对人民群众抗法的态度来看,都决定了在当时情况下清政府是不可能取得中法战争最终胜利的。中法战争中,中国“不败而败”中的“不败”仅是局部的胜利,清政府为了减少损失乘胜与法国议和,签订《中法新约》,也就不难理解了。

In the later period of The Chinese and French War , China once gained the partial victory, but the partial victory after all did not change the whole situation, regardless of the Qing government＇s economy, the military and the diplomatic, or its attitude to the people who anti-French, all decided Qing government can not win the Chinese and French War finally under that situation. Therefore the author thinks, in the Chinese and French War, China ＂did not defeat＂ only can be the partial victory, in other words, regarding the final result of Chinese and French war, China was still defeated in the military, but it negotiated peace took the advantage of the success with French, signed the Chinese and French New Treaty, thus reduced the lose, then it had the rationality, has the certainly positive significance.
