就功能文体而言,涉外经济合同英语属于法律英语的范畴,使用的是“法言法语”。在翻译涉外经济合同时要“文随其体”,考虑合同自身的特点,从语篇、句法、词汇等层面依据涉外经济合同的文体特征进行汉英翻译,尽可能使译文与原文具有功能对等的效应。

Speaking of the functional literary style, the English about economic contract concerning foreign affairs belongs in the field of legal English, using ＂legal words and phrases＂. When we translate the contract from Chinese into English, the characteristics of contract should be taken into consideration in accordance with its style from the aspects of structure, syntax and vocabulary, in order to make the translation and the original text have the same function as far as possible.
