Singapore and Taiwan have identical dominant cultural traditions- Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism. However, the governments of these two soeieties differ significantly in their values and behavioral orientations. And these differences have resulted in unmistakable dissimilarities between the two societies in a variety of social institutions, thereby leaving a heavy mark on the values of their members. This paper reports the core values of the youths thus formed in these two societies as well as the major differences between them. It also provides an elementary analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of these core values. A fundamental precondition of the intended peaceful rise of the Chinese nation is effective renaissance and rise of the Chinese culture in the cognitive, evaluative, and expressive domains, which is nothing but a tremendous mission for the Chinese people. The experience of Singaporeans and Taiwan Residents Chinese may serve as a useful lesson, although partial in nature, for the Mainlanders to reflect on- in the context of working on a much - needed cultural reconstruction.
