The relationship between meaning and grammar is a central issue in contemporary theoretical linguistics, and different linguistic schools hold different views on this issue. Cognitive psychology has made a great progress in the past two decades, which provides us with insight into the relationship between meaning and grammar. The present analysis aims to employ the up-to-date achievements of cognitive psychology to explore the internal relationship between meaning and grammar, an essential property of language.
