构建社会主义和谐社会同建设物质文明、政治文明、精神文明是辩证统一的关系。通过发展社会主义社会的生产力可以不断增强和谐社会建设的物质基础,通过发展社会主义民主政治可以不断加强和谐社会建设的政治保障,通过发展社会主义先进文化可以不断巩固和谐社会建设的精神支撑,同时又通过和谐社会建设来为社会主义物质文明、政治文明、精神文明建设创造有利的社会条件。

Building a socialist harmonious society and promoting material, political and spiritual civilization are at dialectical unity with each other. The solid material basis of a harmnious society will be laid by developing the productive forees, the political guarantee for a harmonious sociely will be provided by socialist democratic polities, and the development of socialist advanced culture will constitute the spiritual support for a harmonious society.
