As a continuation and development of the Party＇s policy of promoting ideological and ethical progress, the socialist concept of honour and disgrace, namely, Eight Dos and Eight Don＇ ts formulated by Comrade Hu Jintao reflects the perfect combination of the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation and the spirit of the times. We must foster and practice the concept and acquire an accurate understanding of its essence and epochal character so as to promote the sound development of the country＇ s modernization drive.
