Exploration into the History of Kettle and Its Development

三峡地区及清江流域使用釜的历史源于新石器时代的城背溪文化和大溪文化,在夏、商、周时期的早期巴人遗存中则大量出现,战国到两汉以后出土的铜釜和铁釜则是釜文化的延续和发展。釜是早期巴文化中最具代表性的器物,对后世的土家族文化产生过深远影响。

The history of using kettle in the Three Gorges area and Qing River drainage area can be traced back to neolithic Chengbeixi Culture and Daxi Culture. A lot of kettles are found in the relics of early Ba people in the periods of Xia, Shang, Zhou. Copper kettle and iron kettle which are unearthed in the relics from the Warring State to Han Dynasty is a continuation and development of early kettle culture. Kettle is the most typical utensils of early Ba Culture and it has a far-reaching influence on the culture of Tu tribe.
