Because of the differences between component materials and microscopic structures of concrete as well as the diversities in outside influences it is subjected to, the causes of development of concrete fractures are comparatively complicated. Set forth are the mechanism of the development of concrete fractures on locks and their precautionary measures. In view of a specific lock project, emphasis is put on a survey of designs and construction measures for preventing locks from developing fractures, and put forward are practical methods for patching fractures on locks.
