As Allan Bloom presents, it is necessary to reconsider the ideology of university for ottering general education by resuming traditions and providing classics to college students. University should keep rational and have enough power to resist the pressure from society. However, today＇s university is gradually losing academic freedom, rationality and individual independence. To improve the well-being of university students, universities are suggested to offer general education through restoring traditions and providing classics to students.
