The First EAS was held on December 14,2005 in Kuala Lumpur. Each member of EAS has different attitude,but quite pragmatic and active. The main purpose of EAS is to establish East Asia Free Trade Area. It is decided that EAS is held and led by ASEAN once a year. EAS symbolizes the rise of Asia,but its symbolic meaning is much stronger than the factual meaning. The worse Sino-Japan relations are the main barrier in the East Asia Area Cooperation in the future.
