A Study on HUANG Zong-xi's Biographic Theory

黄宗羲的传记理论比较零散,以往的研究也很少。但他提出的“宁不喜于今人,毋贻议于后人”、“叙事须有风韵,不可担板”等传记写作的观点,至今仍有借鉴意义。

There is a very loose record of HUANG＇ s theory on biographies, given the fact that there was little research in it back then. The paper admits that there are some valuable ideas like biographic writing should adhere to the principles of not to seek pleasure from the present readers so as to invite criticism from the people in the later generations.
