Reflections on Confucius and the Harmonious Society

孔子的和谐社会论是孔子政治理想、愿望的集中反映、概括与提升。“务为治者也”,孔学本质上是社会政治论体系。追求和谐社会理想之实现,达到“天下为公”的目标是其主旨所在;“齐之以礼”,是和谐社会的秩序保障;“依于仁”,是和谐社会的意识形态保障;“足食”,是和谐社会的经济基础。孔子之论即是和谐社会论,孔子之观即是和谐社会观。

Confucianism which aims at the harmony of society is essentially a political system with Confucian ethic code as the public order security, benevolence as social ideology insurance and sufficient food as economic basis. Confucianism is actually the theory of harmonious society.
