“科技”一词的出现有着深刻的文化根源和现实背景。在当代中国文化语境下,“科技”这一术语之要义有两点:从体制上说,“科技”是“自然科学”和“技术”的总称;从观念上说,“科技”的实质性内涵是“科学性的技术”。“科技”一词的创用及其广泛流行模糊了科学与技术的差别,造成国人对科学观念认知上的混乱以及导致国家在科学体制和科学政策上出现偏差。科学活动与技术活动是两种不同的研究范式,必须厘清科学与技术的关系。

The word of 'scitech' to be created has profound culture origin and actual background.Under the current condition of Chinese culture context,the fundamental meanings of 'scitech' include two aspects: On the one hand 'scitech' consists of science and technology in system,on the other hand the substantiality meaning of 'scitech' is 'scientific technology' in concept.Creating on the word of scitech and Its abroad popularity lead to confusing science and technology,and bring the confusion on science concept,and lead to the error on science system and science policy.Science activity and technology activity are two different paradigms,so it is necessary to make a clear distinction about science and technology.
