大学英语口语教学中的教师功能新探

A New Interpretation of Teachers' Role in College Oral English Teaching

随着中国的入世,中国各行各业面临着机遇和挑战,教育领域也不例外,尤其是外语教学。在教育史上,教师和学生的关系问题一直是困扰教师教学的难题。不同的历史背景下,对这一观点的阐述也截然不同,如“教师主导论”“教师无用论”等。在经济学和语言教学理论的基础上,发现经济学中的“政府和企业关系”同英语口语教学中的师生关系有许多相似之处。在黄铁苗、郑红军提出的“政府对企业,神管形不管”理论的启示下,提出了21世纪英语口语教学中老师对学生也应是“神管形不管”,教师的功能等同于政府的观点。

China＇ s entry into WTO brings both challenge and opportunities to every walk of life, including education, especially foreign language teaching. In the long history of education, teachers have been haunted by the problem of what is the best relation between teachers and students. Based on the theory of economics and language teaching, this paper seeks the similarities between the relation between teachers and students and that between government and enterprises. Enlightened by the theory proposed by Huang Tiemiao and Zheng Hongjun, the government should regulate enterprises in principle but not in details. The paper puts forward that teachers should play the same role as the government to promote students＇ capability and creativity.
