Analysis of Zhang Zhongjing's Idea of Treatment for Illness of Deficiency Type by Eliminating the Pathogenic Factors

张仲景辨治正气不足之证,既遵循“虚而补之”的一般原则,又不拘于治虚用补,视病情需要大胆运用祛邪法,即“虚而行之”,并根据具体病证,或者径攻其邪,或者先扶正后祛邪,或者祛邪扶正并用,充分体现了中医辨证论治思想的灵活性。

While treating and differentiating syndrome of insufficiency of vital essence, Zhang Zhongjing not only followed the general principle of treating illness of deficiency type by tonifying method, but bravely used the method of eliminating the pathogenic factors. And he treated the deficiency syndrome according to the specific diseases, by eliminating the pathogenic factors directly, or by strengthening the body resistence before eliminating the pathogenic factors, or by eliminating the pathogenic： factors and strengthening the body resistence simutaneously, which embodies the flexibility of TCM theory of syndrome differentiation and treatment.
