Richard Hofstadter was one of the most famous historians in American in the 20th century. His historical concept of Status Revolution played an important role in his whole historical thought, and made hot debates among many scholars in the 1950s. It emphasized economy benefit was not single decisive factor resulting social changes in the period of turning, Status Politics embodies people's dignity yet was an important factor as well. This paper wants to analyse the historical thought and its relationship with the real life of Hofstadter.
