Reflections upon the Strategy of Rejuvenating Jiangsu Province through Education:The Key to the Strategy is the Remarkable Improvement of Education Quality and Cultivated Talent Quality

江苏不仅要率先成为全国发展的经济强省、科技强省,而且要率先成为全国的教育强省。要使江苏实现由教育大省向教育强省的转变,必须在教育质量与人才培养质量上有一个质的飞跃与发展,必须使江苏教育在全省社会、经济、科技发展中的贡献比例与份额有很大的提高。换言之,江苏教育的发展,要真正成为江苏社会、经济、科技发展的的动力源泉、人才宝库、智力支柱。因为江苏社会、经济、科技发展要真正依赖于江苏教育和科技的迅猛快速发展,依赖于江苏广大劳动者素质的普遍而显著的提高。

Jiangsu is intended not only to be an economically and scientifically powerful province, but also to be an educationally powerful province. To achieve this aim, we have to realize a qualitative stride and development in education quality and cultivated talent quality and an improvement of education＇s contribution ratio compared with social, economic and scientific portions. In other words, Jiangsu＇s education should become the fountain head, talent reservoir and intellectual support of social, economic and scientific development, which, in turn, relies on the overall remarkable improvement of laborers.
