The Cantonese Group in Shanghai and the Multi-culturalism in Modern Shanghai Society

近代上海社会文化日趋多元化。旅沪广帮与这一过程有着密切的关系。广帮把粤语、粤菜、粤俗、粤剧等带有浓厚区域特色的岭南文化带到上海,对沪粤间的文化交流起到了媒介作用;而他们的一些活动,如聚赌、狎妓,也给近代上海社会带来不少负面影响。

The Cantonese Group in Shanghai had great influence on the making of multi-culturalism in modern Shanghai society.They brought Cantonese culture to Shanghai,mainly represented by Cantonese dialect,food,custom and opera,forming a bridge between Shanghai and Canton's cultural communications.However,some behaviors of Cantonese businessmen's,such as gambling and going whoring,also had negative effects on the modern Shanghai society.
