Octamethylcyclotetrasilazane was synthesized from dimethyldichlorosilane and ammonia, IR was employed to characterized the structure of the product. The factors affecting the yield were investigated. The results showed that toluene as solvent, concentration of dimethyldichlorosilane:2.07 mol/L, reaction temperature: 15- 18 ℃, During post-treatment the by-product ammonium chloride was dissolved with agueous ammonia, The yield is above 59 %.
