摘要
文章首先介绍了包层泵浦的基本原理和采用大功率多模泵浦激光器泵浦镱铒共掺双包层光纤实现高功率放大器的技术方案,并与传统掺铒光纤放大器(EDFA)的技术方案进行了比较。随后,作者在文章中提出了创新的光学结构,即在第1级采用传统EDFA技术优化噪声指数,第2级采用镱铒共掺双包层光纤和高功率多模泵浦激光器以提升输出功率。采用此结构的光放大器获得了30.9 dBm的输出功率和5.2 dB的噪声指数。
This paper begins with the introduction of the basic principles of the cladding pumping technology, the technical approach for the realization of high power amplifiers by using the ytterbium-erbium co-doped dual-clad fiber pumped by the high power multimode pump laser and the comparison with that for the conventional Er-doped fiber amplifiers. Then the authors proposed a novel optical structure, i.e. using the conventional EDFA in the first stage to improve NF and ytterbium-erbium co-doped dual-clad fiber pumped by high power multimode laser diode in the second stage to increase the output power. The prototype amplifier with this structure has output power of 30.9 dBm and NF of 5.2 dB.
