苏州城是否为春秋晚期吴大城是一个十分敏感的历史问题。2000年对灵岩古城及其邻近地区同时代遗存的考古调查和发掘,从科学的角度提供了佐证。结合过去文献资料及对苏州城考古材料的综合分析,再一次论述了春秋吴大城应为灵岩古城,而苏州城始建于汉代。
