翻译过程是将一种语言中的某一个表达方式转换为另一种语言中的某一个对应的表达方式的过程。翻译的过程是一个始终都在使用语言的过程,因此,翻译首先就是一种语言活动,翻译的研究对象无论从哪个角度看都离不开语言。自有翻译以来就有语言研究,语言研究离不开语言对比分析。对比分析为翻译研究提供理论依据、指导翻译实践,翻译为对比分析提供丰富的语料和分析依据。

Translating is a course of conveying an expressive way of a language to a corresponding expressive way of another language. Translating is a course of using language all the time. Therefore, translation is, first of all, a language activity. The research object of translation cannot be separated from language in any angle. There has been the language research since there was translation. The language research can＇ t be separated from the contrastive analysis of language. Contrastive analysis provides the theoretical bases for the research of translation and guides the practice of translation. At the same time, translation provides plenty of language bases and analytical bases for contrastive analysis.
