The issue of race is a theme in Blyden's series of studies. His theory on race consists of the interdependent parts of race character, race equality, race purity and race mutuality. The core of Blyden's race theory is on race character, and the basic system of his theory is on race equality. His theory on race mutuality is based on the race character and race equality. Blyden advocated to maintain the purity of the Blackman. Blyden was proud of being the Black race,but he was also worry about the result of the weakened social statue of the Blackman and the consequence of race mixed blood.
