论林语堂的“半半哲学”及其翻译理论

On Lin Yutang’s Half-and-Half Doctrine and His Translation Theory

文章通过对林语堂“半半”人生哲学的分析,指出林氏翻译思想也受这一人文主义哲学思想深刻地影响,其翻译实践中体现的“和谐”“近似”“多元互补”的翻译观、“有容乃大”的宏伟气魄及其“后现代”翻译思想,在翻译学蓬勃发展的今天仍然有不可忽视的借鉴作用。

Having probed into the Half-and-Half doctrine advocated by LinYutang, the author points out that Lin＇s translating had been greatly influenced by this philosophy, concluding that currently such notions as ＂harmony＂, ＂closeness＂, ＂multi-complementariness＂, ＂magnanimity＂ and ＂post-modernism＂ practiced by him are vital to the development of translation studies at present.
