The Significance of the Theory about Knowledge of Yin-yang

摘要 中国传统科学拥有一条与西方科学不同的认识路线。要说明这一点,必须充分估计运动和运动所形成的关系的独立意义。事实上,宇宙分为物质存在和运动关系之网两大对立层面,二者在存在方式上具有互斥性。因此认识不可能同时以这两个层面为出发点,而必定或者以物质实体为本位,或者以运动关系之网为本位来把握世界。这样就形成了对世界认识的两条路线。西方传统的认识论属于前者,中国传统的认识论属于后者。认识层面与认识方法是相应的。于是,西方科学主要采用抽象方法、封闭式实验方法和还原方法,中国传统科学主要采用意象方法、彻底开放的实验方法和静观方法。阴阳概念集中体现了中国传统科学路线的特点。 The Chinese traditional sciences have a line of knowledge differentiating from the Western sciences. In order to explain it, must fully estimate the independent motion and relations formed motion. gnificance of In fact the universe is divided into two opposite fields: material exist and net of motion relations. They are mutually rejecting in existent way. So man's knowledge of world cannot proceed from the two opposite fields at the same time, but has to take material substance as the standard of knowledge'or take net of motion relations as the standard of knowledge. Two lines of knowledge of world have been formed as a result. The Western traditional theory of knowledge belongs to the former. The Chinese traditional theory of knowledge belongs to the latter. The methods of knowledge correspond with the field ot knowledge. I herefore the Western sciences use mainly abstract method, seal-experimental method and reduction method. The Chinese traditional sciences use mainly image method, open-experimental method and observant method which does not intervene object of understand. Yin-yang concept embodies concentrated characteristic of the line of the Chinese traditional sciences.
