摘要
本文以档案资料和解放前公开发表的学术论文为主要依据,阐述了翁文灏先生对我国现代地震科学的创立和发展所作的重要贡献及其与之相关的学术思想。
Mr. Weng Wenhao (1889-1971) was born in Yinxian County, Zhejiang Province. He got a DSc from Louvain University of Belgium in 1912, and made a. great contribution to the development of Earth science in China.
Based on historical archives and academic papers published before liberation, this paper reviews his great contributions to the establishment and development of modern seismological science in China and his academic views on it.
