语言的形成与发展受到文化的制约。本文通过对比分析中西地域文化,包括地理位置、地形地貌、气候及方位等对各民族词汇的影响,指出不可忽视文化背景知识的输入,深刻了解文化差异,有助于更深刻地理解语言,更有效地运用语言,提高语言交流能力。

The creation and development of language is conditioned by culture. Through comparison analyses of the influence of the geographic culture,that is,the geographic location, the landform and topography,the climate and orientation of China and western countries on their national vocabularies, this paper is intended to point out that the input of cultural background knowledge cannot be ignored. A profound understanding of the cultural difference contributes to a better understanding and more effective use of language and to the enhancement of language communication competence.
