Moral Life in Nanyue area During Qin and Han Dynasties

根据已有史料,秦汉时代,南越地区的道德生活主要敞开为三个方面,一是人们普遍享有婚前性自由和婚姻自主的道德权利,但这种权利因为受到内地主流道德的强烈影响而受到了挑战。二是一些部落中还奉行以缺乏慈悲之心为特点的极端功利主义道德原则。三是在成为秦汉统一国家的一部分后,由于政府官员的剥削和压迫,他们充分地显示了反抗压迫和剥削的道德品质。在这些反抗活动中,他们自觉或不自觉地遵守着大一统的政治道德规范。

During Qin and Han dynasties, according to historical data, the moral life in Nanyue area was highlighted in three aspects. Firstly, people there generally enjoyed moral rights, namely the freedom of premarital sexual act and that to choose one＇ s spouse, those rights suffered the challenge of the principal morals initiated by the central government. Secondly, some tribes still carried out the moral principle of an extreme utilitarianism with the characteristics of lacking mercy. Thirdly, the local people consciously or unconsciously obeyed the political moral norm, namely the great unification after the area became a part of Qin and Han empires, because of the exploitation and oppression of officials, the being interrelated people showed their moral character of resistance.
