新中国成立后,以毛泽东为代表的领导集体将科学技术视为革命者完成自身历史使命的重要工具,在封锁禁运、苏联毁约的困境下,千方百计引进先进科技,同时促进自主研发,果断地发展高科技产业,提高中华民族的国际地位,为中国进一步发展打下了基础。

Since the establishment of the new China, the leadership headed by Mao Zedong, considering the science and technology as the important instruments to fulfill the historical mission, has tried all means to introduce advanced technologies in a very difficult situation when China was blocked and embargoed and the former Soviet Union tore up contracts and at the same time, promoted self development and decidedly focused on the development of high-tech industries to improve the international status of the Chinese nation, which have laid a firm basis for the further development of China.
