The method and results of the intercomparison of 20MN force standard machines between NIM of China and NRLM of Japan is described. The intercomparison of such large force standards had not yet been realized in the world. The uniformity of the force value of these two machines in the comparison is ±3.0×10 -4 in the range of not more than 6MN, and ±1.5×10 -4 in the range from 6MN to 20MN.
