本文根据弗洛伊德的精神分析学说对小说《押沙龙,押沙龙!》(以下简称《押沙龙》)中朱迪丝这个人物形象进行了解读,认为生于一个种族主义盛行的南方家族,朱迪丝的成长历经了三个阶段:叛逆、觉醒、救赎。其中成年期间的转折是埃勒克特拉情结(Electra Complex)即恋父情结失败后作的一次调整,是朱迪丝童年心理经历的一次解脱,她的变化寄托了作者福克纳对堕落的南方尚存的一丝希望。

With the aid of Freudian theory of psychoanalysis, the paper conducts an analysis of Judith, a figure in Absalom,Absalom! ,and concludes that,born into a Southern family with fierce racist tradition, her life has undergone three phases of growth：the phase of rebellion, of disillusion, and redemption among which the conversion in her adulthood, both as an adjustment made after her failure of Electra Complex and an release from her childhood experience, stands for William Faulkner＇s hope of survival towards a decadent south.
